Election petition: Langrial’s counsel given till May 4

On the last hearing, the National Assembly Speaker had been directed to ensure the MNA’s presence in court.

LAHORE: The Lahore High Court on Tuesday adjourned the hearing of an election petition against PML-Q’s Nauman Ahmad Langrial till May 4 after the respondent’s counsel sought time to finalise his arguments. On the last hearing, the National Assembly Speaker had been directed to ensure the MNA’s presence in court. Begum Shahnaz Javed of the Pakistan People’s Party, who lost the NA-163 (Sahiwal) election to Langrial, has filed the petition. She says that he had contested election using a fake degree. She has prayed for Langrial’s disqualification.
