Golf: Thangraja leads after 3rd day

Sri Lanka’s N Thangraja maintained his supremacy in the 51st National Amateur Golf Championship as he starts the final day top of the standings with an aggregate of 215.


Thangraja fired a 73 on the third day as Pakistan's Wasim Rana trails the Sri Lankan by two strokes after firing in a 73.

Bangladesh's Dulal Hossain, who was joint top after the third day’s play, sits third with 218. Multan-based Ashiq Hussain is fourth after a 75. Pakistan’s Ali Hai, who was leading the standings after the end of the first round finished the third day in fifth with 222.

The ladies event is led by Ghazala Yasmin, the defending national champion, with a 168.

One stroke behind is fast-rising Kashifa Zafar.
