State Department spokesperson Victoria Nuland told reporters that Deputy Secretary Nides' visit was part of the re-engagement process with the Pakistani government as the parliamentary review process draws down.
Nides is expected to hold meetings with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar, Foreign Secretary Jilani and Finance Minister Hafeez Sheikh. The spokesperson added that they expect to address issues of mutual interest.
