Under-construction building: Labourer fall to death

Working on under-construction towers of Centaurus in F-8, two labourers fell from the fifth floor of the building.

ISLAMABAD: A labourer was killed and another injured in a fall on Thursday. While working on one of the under-construction towers of Centaurus in F-8, two labourers fell from the fifth floor of the building. One of them died on the spot while the other was rushed off in critical condition to Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences. Margalla Police said Khadim Hussain Soomro, 35, was operating a lift with Zakaullah, 36, when it collided with an abandoned push cart. The cart was accidentally loosened by one of the labourers while working on the sixth floor, which in turn went hurtling towards the two in the lift who tried to swerve away from the cart and fell. According to the police, Soomro succumbed to his injuries and his body will be handed over to his family. Police said initial investigations pointed out that the incident was an accident.
