Party clash: Taleh Bugti’s murder suspect caught

Anti-Violent Crime Cell claim to have arrested a man involved in the murder of the grandson of Akbar Bugti.

KARACHI:

The Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC) claimed on Monday to have arrested a man involved in the murder of the grandson of Akbar Bugti, Taleh.

According to the press release issued by the cell, the man was identified as Mushtaq Baloch and he was also wanted for other murders, including that of Dr Salim Kharal of Sindh University.

Baloch and his two accomplices, Arif and Qamaruddin Baloch, had opened fire on a party last year, at Khayaban-e-Rahat where six people died and six others were injured.

A case was registered at the Gizri police station. Arif and Qamaruddin are missing and the police are searching for them.

Gizri police said Taleh was attending a party held by Arif Raajar, this newspaper reported in June. Taleh’s guards were outside. Details are sketchy on the nature of the fight, but according to most versions, it was over gatecrashers. One man, said to be Raajar’s friend Dr M Iqbal, fired his weapon in the air to prevent men from entering. At the end of the ensuing shoot-out, Taleh, two waiters Mark Joseph and Kamran Shafee, and Kamran Gul were shot dead and nine others were injured.
