HARIPUR: Amid threats of a terrorist attack, security at the Haripur Central Jail was heightened on Sunday. According to police sources, the administration of Haripur Central Jail informed that they had received threats of a terrorist attack and requested deployment of additional police contingents at the site. DPO Haripur Ali Khan said he was not aware of the exact nature of the threat, yet he called in additional police officials from neighbouring Abbottabad district and deployed them at the site. Khan said police officials were deployed around the jail’s boundary walls and entrance, while the approaching Jail Road was barricaded and traffic was rerouted to GT Road.
