DERA GHAZI KHAN: A woman was injured and two cars were destroyed in a grenade attack on the residence of Mohammad Ayub, a car dealer, in the vicinity of Saddar police station. A case was registered in the matter on Ayub’s complaint against one Javed Lashari and some other proclaimed offenders. Ayub submitted in his complaint that Lashari and his accomplices could have arranged the attack to pressure him into paying extortion money. He told the police that one of suspects had called him a few days ago and demanded Rs 500,000. He said the caller had threatened him with dire consequences if the demand was not met. Following the blast, several people associated with the car dealers association held a protest against police for its failure to maintain law and order in the city.
