The two women, earlier declared kari by a jirga of the Shar community, told the district court on Wednesday that they fear they will be killed if sent back home.

According to a report by Express News, SHO Chakk Police Station Ali Mohammad said that the women feared for their life, which is why the Shikarpur district court had ordered the police to send them to Darul Aman on Wednesday.

SSP Larkana brought the women – Ajeeban and Khursheed – to a sessions court, and later to a family court today. After hearing the statements of the women, the court ordered the police to shift them to Darul Aman.

The women were earlier kidnapped by members of Jatoi community in relation to a three-year old conflict. They were declared kari by a jirga of the Shar community on Tuesday after being released on the intervention of some influential people of the area.

how can 1000 karo kari outright murders per year, almost all women be legal in Pakistan? See wikipedia description of these ancient ritual murders of innocent humans who happen to be women. A custom of legalized murders only in Pakistan where the government and the judiciary looks the way. For how long? It is a shocking practice going on in a country calling itself as a democracy and where the ruling and one pf the biggest political party comes from SINDH where Karo Kari takes place.
