Another air-conditioned bus service soon

LTC has laid down a comprehensive strategy to initiate an air conditioned bus service for the city.

LAHORE: The Lahore Transport Company (LTC) has laid down a comprehensive strategy to initiate an air conditioned bus service for the city, Asad Gillani, the LTC general manager (Operations), said on Tuesday.

He along with JI Kim, the LTC chief executive officer (CEO) and Fawad Qureshi, the general manager (Enforcement), briefed a delegation comprising 20 probationers, under training at the Civil Services Academy, on the changes the LTC planned to introduce in the public transport system of the city.

JI Kim said that the company was on its way to reform the transport system. He said that revamping the transport infrastructure was among the top priorities of the LTC. Kim mentioned that 11 spots had so far been identified across the city to set up bus terminals and depots.

On unregistered transport services, Fawad Qureshi said that enforcement inspectors had been assigned to monitor them. He did not, however, say whether or not the LTC would take any action against such transport services.

The delegation included Syed Imran Baqir, Fatima Khalil, Amna Shabbir, Sonia Anwar Rana, Riffat Haider Bokhari, Akmal Khan, Abid Ali Baloch, Muhammad Asad Munir Malik, Junaid Mahmood, Muhammad Hasan Shafqaat, Asad Ullah, Adnan Zafar, Arshad Khan, Muhammad Usman Akram, Sheikh Saleem Ellahi, Syed Abdul Manan, Syed Aurangzaibul Hassan, Syed Hasan Raza, Syed Saadat Ali and Sayed Tajdar Mustafa Zaidi.
