Four injured in Double Road grenade attack

The injured have been shifted to Civil hospital. Investigation into the attack is underway.

QUETTA: A grenade attack on Quetta's Double Road injured four people on Wednesday, Express News reported. 

According to reports, two unknown assailants riding on motorcycles hurled a grenade at a jeep carrying four people.

The assailants managed to escape after the attack.

The injured had been shifted to Civil Hospital.

Police has reached the spot and have cordoned off the area. An investigation in to the attack has been launched.

Quetta has been marred by violence in recent times with targeted killings of minorities, academicians and politicians.

Earlier on Tuesday, a blast ripped through Liaquat Bazaar near Junction square in Quetta, injuring a security guard and destroying up to 20 stores.

Members of the Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) told Express News that between eight to ten kilograms of explosive material had been planted in Allied Bank’s back up power generator.

With the support of European Union (EU), a special system is going to be introduced in KPK through which robots will be used to locate and deactivate IEDs.

The motive for putting the IEDs on roadsides is to spread fear among the citizens.
