Akbar Bugti, along with his comrades, was killed in a military operation in Kohlu district of Balochistan in 2006. The operation was ordered by the then army chief and president Pervez Musharraf.
“We will give Rs1 million in cash and a bungalow worth Rs100 million to anybody who kills Musharraf. And we’ll also provide him full security,” Shahzain Bugti said while speaking to the media after condoling the death of Pir Pagara with his bereaved family on Sunday. Shahzain Bugti, who is also a leader of his grandfather’s Jamhoori Watan Party, demanded that Musharraf should be hanged.
“The gallows are ready for Musharraf. There will be serious consequences, if the government does not arrest him upon his arrival,” he warned.
He alleged that Musharraf was responsible for the killing of hundreds of people. “He not only killed my grandfather but also hundreds of innocent people during the Lal Mosque operation in Islamabad. Ulema have also declared him wajibul qatal (liable to be killed),” Shahzain claimed.
He said the people of Balochistan have already rejected the Aghaz-e-Haqooq-e-Balochistan package. “We don’t need charity. We will snatch back our rights from the rulers,” he added.

Balochis who are envisaging for an independent balochistan should be kicked out from Pakistan.I feel that pashtuns living area in B'tan should be merged into KPK while baloch populated area should be called balochistan.

@VINOD: There is a huge difference between Kashmir and Baloshistan. The people who are fighting in Baloshistan are trained SLAVES of sardars like bugtis and mengals. They are not fighting for the people of Balochistan or for their rights, they are the servants of tribal sardars who are further supported by neighboring countries. While in Kashmir there is a indigenous movement for their rights.

Mr Bugti, first of all this is not the wild west, your tribal thugs cannot lay a finger on a former three star general and COAS. Secondly, your grandfather chose the route of a terrorist and took on the army. That is considered treason in any country and is punishable by death. You cannot keep bombing and blasting state installations and not expect retaliation. I think your grandfather deserved what he got. Thirdly, you and your grandfather and the like are multi-millionaires who live in palaces, party like rock stars in Karachi and all over the world while you make other poor Baloch sit below your feet level while listening to them beg for a mere few rupees ( I have seen it personally). @Noor: Dear Noor, Each MPA from baluchistan has a Rs. 250 million fund, out of which 50 million is discretionary. Maybe you should ask this question from your representative or your local govt. since they also received funds like the rest, if others can have development so should baluchistan but if there isnt its your local representatives fault. Maybe you should use your right of vote for a different candidate next time and your problem might be solved(only if you vote for the right candidate).
He has millions of rupees to give out to would-be murderers but not for the betterment of Baloch people. He could set up a hospital or a school with all that money. I would not mind donating to a good cause like that either but they will not do that.

Grandson following the steps of his elders. In a civilsed society he would be charged for uttering the death threats, since it's our country we don't have any law and order. Every future ruler even like Imran Khan etc. etc. will carry a bounty on their heads if these criminal elements are not removed by our own army or by American drones. Much as I loathe Musharraf, he really put Bugti in his place. Imagine a Western educated individual who kept his people uneducated and demanded hundreds of millions of rupees for his personal benefit and got those. I didn't see the locals lot being improved during his time but Bugti certainly lived the high life.
If BLA want to see improvement in Balochistan, they should be targeting their tribal leaders. Once that is done and people are more educated, then Balochistan can improve with a low population and vast mineral resources. If the tribals stay in charge, then I am afraid nothing will improve.

Struggle against oppression is a struggle of principle and for basic rights. The real test of the struggler is how he would behave if he were to get power. Urging for extra-judicial killing of Musharraf has neutralized a lot the moral support and sympathy that the ruthless killing of Nabab Akbar Bughti had generated for the Baloch cause. This is all very negative. The Baloch cause stands weakened today. This is all very sad and substandard.
Shahzain needs to grow up. That is only if he would like to improve from being an emotional rich man who has inherited a leadership role.

@Maiden: That's right , Pakistan should be a constitutional democracy ruled by the law but why is it fine when Musharraf takes over illegal and imposes a dictatorship. Why is Shahzain's rule of law any worse than Musharraf when he uses force of arms to take over the government? Balochistan's border is with iran. Iran will never support as they have sistan baluchistan itself. Half of balochistan's population consists of pakhtuns who by in large want to remain with pakistan.There are many other issues as well. I don't like Musharraf much after his big 3 blunders, namely removing the CJ, Lal Masjid Fiasco and probably the worst of all the NRO, but this death threat and reward makes me wonder why don't these "Sardars" spend this money on the upliftment of the poor Baloch people. What have these feudal Sardars done for the Baloch if only point the finger and blame sometimes the State of Pakistan, mostly the Punjab and now Musharraf. Mind you its not as if all the Baloch have been oppressed. The current President (Zardari)is basically a Baloch. Leghari was a considered a Siraiki speaking Baloch too.
