Chehlum: IGP orders officials to revise security

The orders follow the terrorist attack at the office of the DI Khan district police officer (DPO) that killed six.

Following the terrorist attack at the office of the DI Khan district police officer (DPO) on Saturday, Inspector General of Police Javed Iqbal issued directions to revise security arrangements for the Chehlum of Hazrat Imam Hussain on Sunday (today).

The attack at the DPO’s office left six people, including three suicide attackers, dead and many injured.


The IGP has ordered the RPOs, DPOs and field police officers to tighten security and take steps to ensure foolproof security to potential target places, official buildings, trading points, hotels, mosques, imam bargahs and police stations. He also directed the officials to provide foolproof security on the routes of the chehlum procession.
