ABBOTABAD: A house caught fire and burnt to ashes in the urban limits of Abbottabad on Tuesday afternoon. All inhabitants were rescued by rescue workers. The source of the fire according to the police was a wet cloth placed before a gas heater by Wapda employee Abdul Qadeer’s daughter. The cloth resultantly caught fire engulfing the remaining two rooms of the house within an hour. By the time the fire brigade reached the house, the house had burned down. Though rescue workers tried to douse the flames and save the possessions within, Qadeer estimated the losses incurred, including electronic equipment, ran into the hundreds of thousands.
