FAISALABAD:

All compressed natural gas (CNG) stations of Faisalabad will remain closed for three days due to suspension of gas supply from Thursday morning.

According to Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), gas supply is being stopped under the gas load management programme, which is necessary for overcoming production shortfall at main gas fields.

Gas supply to CNG stations will remain suspended from 6am on December 22 to 6am on December 25.

An SNGPL spokesperson said CNG stations should avoid supplying gas to vehicles during closure days, adding violators would be handed down heavy fines and gas supply would be cut off.

The CNG station owners have protested against the weekly closure, saying this is not the right way to overcome gas shortage and the government should search for new reserves of coal and gas.
