Sheikh Rashid takes on Zardari, Sharif, Haqqani, Bilour

‘Musharraf should not return ... other parties should get a chance’.

LAHORE:

Awami Muslim League leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed demanded on Thursday that the Supreme Court form a medical board consisting of senior doctors for a medical check up of President Asif Ali Zardari to ascertain whether he was mentally ill or suffering from a  cardiac disease.

Ahmed told a press conference ‘everyone’ was confused about Zardari’s illness and few trusted the government’s statements. He said the Army should not seek political power. Rather, it should, support the courts and help in implementing their historic decisions. He said the ISI director general, Ahmad Shuja Pasha, should say whether he went to Saudi Arabia to seek permission to remove President Zardari.

He said former prime minister Nawaz Sharif had not taken the decision at the right time to accept important people into his party but now he was ready to welcome even a former councillor. He asked why Hussain Haqqani had resigned if he was not involved in memogate. Rashid said the real mission of Federal Minister for Railways Ghulam Ahmad Bilour seemed to be obtaining kick backs in Railways purchase.

He advised Pervez Musharraf not to return and give other political parties the chance to run the country. He appealed to the public to participate in the Defence of Pakistan public meeting at Minar-i-Pakistan on March 12.

If there are any cases against him, bring those in the court of law and he will face them. Don't underestimate him please. People of Pakistan cannot forget the good governance during his tenor.
