Flood-affected areas: Sanitation workshop from Dec 12

Project aims to benefit population of seven million from all three phases of early recovery programme interventions.

ISLAMABAD: The ministry of disaster management, the government of Pakistan, in collaboration with UNICEF, Plan International, UN-HABITAT and Water Aid are hosting a three-day workshop on end-of-project evaluation for Phase I and mid-term review and action plan for Phase II of this programme from December 12th – 14th in Islamabad.

The workshop is being held in purview of the project “Early Recovery on Rural Sanitation in other 19 flood-affected districts of Pakistan” that was developed in response to addressing the water and sanitation needs of the affected 3.5 million people across the country.

The project aims to benefit a population of seven million from all three phases of early recovery programme interventions in 33 flood-affected districts. The project is being implemented in three phases.

Early recovery programme Phase-l and lI is about to be completed which focus on learning/experiences and best practices from other phases and worldwide WASH interventions/governances.
