Judge to start inter results inquiry today

Commission to determine causes of delay, nature and extent of errors and inaccuracies in results.

LAHORE: Justice Shahid Saeed of the Lahore High Court will start proceedings, on Thursday, to determine the reasons behind the delayed and erroneous intermediate results declared by the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

The one-member commission was constituted by the LHC chief justice, on request of the Punjab Government. The commission will determine causes of the delay and the nature of the errors made while computing the results. It will also examine how efficient and reliable the online system is for compilation and declaration of results. The commission will also fix responsibility for the delay and inaccuracies and make recommendations.

Justice Saeed will start in camera proceedings at noon everyday, except for Saturday when they will start at 9 am.

The LHC invited witnesses, saying that anyone who wants to record evidence regarding the delay in declaration of results can contact the office of the commission’s registrar, Manzoor Husain Dogar at the LHC building.
