There are Facebook pages that make you laugh, amuse you and entertain you -- and then there are ones that can make you cry. Daaniya’s story, falling in the latter category, is a heart-rending story of a two-year-old child who suffers from a chronic kidney disease and is on dialysis as both her kidneys have failed to work.

After her parents, Salman Zaidi and Samareen Shami, failed to find a matching kidney donor for their child in their immediate families, they decided to reach out to people through the social networking site Facebook.

They are looking for anyone with the blood group O who is willing to donate a kidney so that Daaniya can hope to live a longer life.

Daaniya is being treated in Singapore, and her parents are willing to cover all costs for the travel, tests and the transplant of a matching donor for her. The Facebook page extensively covers all the concerns that a donor might have about his/her health regarding the transplant and also every single detail about the donating process. It has also linked in several others websites covering stories of people who have donated kidneys.

The efforts are not going to waste as people have begun to contact the parents and some have even started spreading the word on Twitter, using the hashtag #daaniyastory.
