The censorship board refused to give a clearance certificate to Abhishek Sharma’s latest comedy film Tere Bin Laden.

The film was to be screened in Pakistan on the 16th of July, but the censor board banned its screening due to security reasons.

The full panel of the censor board watched the film and raised the objection that the film has Osama Bin Laden as a central character, so it cannot be presented in cinemas. The film stars Pakistani singer Ali Zafar, who is playing the role of a journalist desperate to migrate to the US.

Secutity? Do they even care about OUR security?!!!! If the people in positions of power really cared about OUR security then we wouldnt have killings and bombings all over Pakistan. The only security they care about is their’s! The censor board members dont want to get into trouble with the fundos. I think that the movie should be shown in Pakistan.Recommend

No. We are just taking the security measures a little more formally than before!

Look, no Al-Qaeda or related organizational member would ‘like’ a funny hanging banner of OBL (who is their spiritual leader as well) on the cinema houses or on street boards of Karachi, Lahore, or Peshawar – a thing which might result in another suicide attack on cinema houses or other packed public places. I know, this public banning is stupid and reflects idiocracy at the first sight, but it has nothing to do with people’s right to watch the movie. You are free to google it, watch it, and rate it as well.

Every thing has already been messed-up over here, only in last 5-10 years. Now, it is upon us to manage it, or throw it into a complete disaster.Recommend

The state believes in free media and to illustrate this, there is a blanket ban imposed on the release of Ali Zafar’s first ever feature film in Pakistan. We should be celebrating his movie and going en masse to the cinema to support a Pakistani star who made a regional platform his own – not stopping his star from rising in his own country. Satire and humour are to appreciated, especially in dire times. Not snubbed by conservative, right wing fear mongers.Recommend

Thats a good step from censor board definately this film hits the hearts of alqaida and they will do more bomb blasts may be in cinema houses so who will suffer ??? only innocent people of Pakistan. and why india is showing its films in Pakistan some days before india made a BAN on pakistani TV channels in jammu kashmir so Pakistan should also make ban on indian channels and films in pakistan. india can stop water in pakistani rivers so pakistan get problem of electricity and our industry goes down n from this we got economically lost of money.Recommend

Ali zafar should be shamed as a muslim n pakistani that he is serving for india, its a slap for those army soilders of Pakistan who are giving their duties for PAKISTAN may be they are earning 3 to 5000 Rs per month but they are honest with Pakistan BUT ali zafar how much you will be rich from this film?Recommend

What non sense. Why ban Ali’s movie? We love Pakistan and would like to see this country prosper and have a good name for the country in the world. Ali as talented as he is, is doing his share by going across the border due to his talent and he is not leaving his roots. He is Pakistani to the core and no one should have any doubts about it but I do have doubts about censor board’s abilities. They are blind and stupid. A comedy movie is being banned for being sensitive to the public and just for being so afraid of Taliban they will not show this movie in theaters. And who ever thinks that they are scared, should stay at home and not go out at all. I am sure they will die to be so scared at home before one of the bombs kill him/her outside watching movie.
Why not fight against these thugs who are terrorizing the nation and who have got you beind locked doors at gun point. We are just cowards nothing else.Recommend

Problem does not lie in Pakistan Censor Board…but the harshly conservative people of Pakistan are the reason censor board had to censor the movie…

If screened in Pakistani Cinema…this is what we would have been treated to see on placards on Mall Road carried by very very conservative people..

Yeh film aik saihooni saazish hae, aur Pakistan ki salamiat ko khatra pohchanay kay liay banai gayee hae. Is say islam ka ghalat rung ujagar ho ga..

    Blah blah blah………

I wonder what good conservativesness and terrorism is doing to Pakistan and Islam…!!!!Recommend

The first thing our censorship boards needs to do is ban indian movies in our cinemas. I mean I cant believe people spend Rs 350 at cineplex to watch Indian movies. Why are we promoting their film industry?

As far as Ali zafar is concerned. maybe he would be a better singer if he concentrated on just singing only.Recommend

Perhaps everyone knows this, but just in case: the title might be inspired by an old Mohammad Rafi & Lata Mangeshkar song – Tere Bin Sajan Laage Na Jiya Hamar – from the Film [Movie] Aarti (1962). Sound track here: YouTube

I am sure an enterprising poet could come up with nice parody of the lyrics (with bin Laden for bin Sajan)!Recommend

First of all neither Censor board is afraid of any one, nor we are coward. No one is idiot, scared or surrendered to Al-Qaida. When it is about security of our life, we have to take such steps inorder to avoid any chaos and destruction.

Secondly, why should Ali Zafar be ashamed of himself? he has the skills and talents and he has utilized it, that is it. After reading al the above comments i have seen none of the person has any patience. Be polite poeple. Anger is not the solution. Oh yes! if you are eager to watch this movie, then Internet Zindabad! go for it. You have the option. No worries.
    Thank You.Recommend
