ISLAMABAD: National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) has sent a summary to the law division, requesting it to issue the gazette notification for the increase of Rs2.40 per unit in electricity prices under the fuel price adjustment formula for July. Meanwhile, the hearing for the increase of Rs3.60 in electricity prices for August, scheduled for Wednesday, has been postponed until October 14. Sources said Nepra had allowed power distribution companies to increase electricity rates by Rs2.40 per unit for July under the fuel price adjustment formula, but its gazette notification was yet to be issued. They said Nepra expected to receive applications for fuel adjustment for September after October 10.
