LAHORE: CCPO Lahore Aslam Tareen admitted that inadequate security arrangments were to blame for the Data Darbar attacks in a Lahore High Court (LHC) inquiry into the attacks.
The court has adjourned the hearing till July 9.
Suo motu notice of the attacks was taken by LHC Chief Justice Khwaja Muhammad Sharif on Friday.
He called for a hearing to determine if the attacks were the result of a security lapse. The chief justice also directed the Punjab Advocate General to assist the court in the matter.
In related developments IG Punjab Tariq Saleem Dogar suspended DSP and SHO of Lower mall, and the checkpost incharge at the Data Sahib Shrine on charges of negligence.
