Recognition: Pride of Performance for Ataka

KARACHI: Senior Vice President of Pakistan Japan Cultural Association Sindh Ataka Mohammad Azmat Shigeyuki has been nominated for the President’s Pride of Performance Award 2011. The award is in recognition of his contribution towards promoting a cultural relationship between Pakistan and Japan. Ataka, a popular figure among Pakistanis, is among the 185 recipients of the civil awards announced on the eve of Independence Day. The award will be conferred on Pakistan Day, March 23, 2012. Ataka is a Pakistani of Japanese origin and is married to known Ikebana expert, Asifa Ataka.
