Osman Soykut of ‘Ibn-e-Arabi’ fame lauds PM Imran Khan

'Dirilis: Ertugrul' actor appreciated efforts to popularise the Muslim scholar in Pakistan

Turkish star Osman Soykut, who essays the role of Ibn Arabi in historical drama series Dirilis: Ertugrul, has thanked Prime Minister Imran Khan for promoting the sanctified teachings of Muslim scholar Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi.

Osman, who portrays the role of Ibn Arabi in the period drama took to Instagram and shared the screengrab of a video posted on PM Imran’s official Instagram handle. The video was shared with the caption, “For those interested in Sufism and the genius of Ibn-E-Arabi should take out time, sit alone and listen to this commentary by Filip Holm.”

The Turkish actor posted the video and thanked PM Imran Khan in a short note. He wrote, “Thank you, Imran Khan and Filip Holm for promoting the wonderful teachings of Muhyiddin Ibn Arabi.”

Previously, the Turkish actor had also appreciated Feroze Khan on his love for the Muslim scholar. “Thank you Feroze Khan for sharing these golden words from the great master Ibn Arabi. I heard you have left the show business in order to serve Islam. I believe there are many different ways to serve the higher cause. Please let me know if there is anything I can do for you, or if you would like to work on some projects together,” he had said.

The historical series is currently being aired in Pakistan with Urdu dubbing on the directives of PM Imran Khan, gauging a mass fan following from Pakistan.

The period drama was introduced to the countrymen by none other than Prime Minister Imran Khan during a session about the content of local films and television.

He also stressed the need for better and more relevant storylines, ones that shed light on the heroes and events of Islamic history.
