Japan’s Nintendo has shared its roundup of the most-downloaded Switch eShop games during August 2020.
Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been a fan favorite due to which it continues to be amongst the most downloaded games, although last month it faced tough competition by the newly released game, Paper Mario: The Origami King.

Minecraft came in first, followed by Animal Crossing: New Horizons in August 2020, and ranking third was Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition and indie release Spiritfarer came in at 4.

Nintendo is also expected to post a 160% jump in first-quarter operating profit as its hit Switch console and titles like Animal Crossing: New Horizons look set to extend a decade-high earnings streak.

The Switch continues to dominate Nintendo’s earnings. The escapist island life simulator became a major hit as its delayed release coincided with consumers staying home due to the coronavirus outbreak, boosting the gaming firm’s earnings in a year with a thin pipeline for major Switch titles.
