TEHRAN:

An official of Iran’s Khorasan Razavi Municipality has said Iranian experts would construct the biggest industrial slaughterhouse in Lahore, costing $21 million.

Speaking to reporters on return from a visit to Pakistan, Mohammad Hassan Razavi said that Pakistan had tremendous potential for producing and breeding livestock, according to Fars news agency. “This slaughterhouse is being constructed on an area of nine hectares with a built-up area of 16,000 square metres,” said Razavi.

He said Mashhad Industrial Meat Institute, affiliated with the municipality, will hold around 20 per cent shares in the slaughterhouse.

Project design, supervision, management, education as well as equipment purchase and its installation will be carried out by the Iranian experts, according to him. The slaughterhouse is expected to become operational in 18 months.
