FAISALABAD:

Three women were killed by relatives over ‘honour’ in two incidents in and around Faisalabad on Wednesday.

Samina Bibi, resident of Chak No444 Gowansan Wala, Jhang, was killed allegedly by her brothers, Jamshed and Asad, because she had contracted marriage three years ago without their consent. Their mother was also killed while trying to stop them from shooting at her.

Jamshed and Asad had been telling Samina to leave her husband and return to her parents’ home. On Wednesday, the two called their cousins – Imran, Ramazan and Irfan – when she was visiting her parents.

They shot her, killing her on the spot.

Nooran Bibi, their mother, was killed trying to stop her sons from shooting at their sister.

All five suspects fled the scene following the killings, father of the accused told The Express Tribune.

Mochi Wala police said an FIR had been registered in the case.

They said the bodies of the two women had been sent for autopsy.

They added that raids would soon be carried out to arrest the accused.

Fazeelat Bibi, 18, was killed by her brother, Dost Muhammad, in Chak Jhumra police precinct in Faisalabad because her husband had refused to live with her because he said he suspected that she was seeing another man.

Muhammad fled the scene after killing his sister, the family said.

Chak Jhumra police said they had sent the body for autopsy and would soon arrest the accused.
