QUETTA:

Three labourers were gunned down on Monday in what police said could be an incident of targeted killing in Panjgur district, about 500-kilometres from Quetta.

According to the police, a group of armed men barged into an under-construction house in the Sar Kalat area of Tasp in Panjgur and opened indiscriminate fire on the labourers who were working inside. Three labourers died on the spot, while one labourer sustained injuries.

The assailants managed to escape on motorbikes after carrying out the attack. Personnel of police and other law-enforcement agencies later cordoned off the area.

The bodies and the injured were taken to a nearby hospital where the deceased were identified as Ramzan, Ijaz Hussain and Irfan.

The condition of the injured man is said to be critical. “The labourers, who belonged to Bahawalpur and Multan districts, had been staying at the house,” an official said. “It could be an incident of targeted killing,” he added.
