Bollywood seems to be obsessed with the idea of biopics. After the release of Sanju which highlighted the controversial life of Sanjay Dutt, viewers are keen to watch films based on other celebrities as well. One such candidate whose life could make for an interesting film is the oh-so-beautiful Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. In an interview with DNA India, Aishwarya spoke of her career and the increase in the number of biopics.

Aishwarya Rai-Bachchan: an ageless beauty and immortal star

The former Miss World revealed that she never wanted to be an actor. "I was an architecture student who chanced upon a beauty pageant after which everything changed. Films seemed to be the next step and when you get your first film offer from Mani Ratman, who’s so revered and respected, you don’t say no," Aishwarya said. She made her acting debut in 1997 with Mani's Tamil film called Iruvar.

The 44-year-old star has had a successful career in Bollywood and also ventured into Hollywood. Her complicated relationship with Salman Khan and her marriage to Abhishek Bachchan from one of the biggest film families in India could easily make for a blockbuster.

Speaking of an idea of having a story based on her life, Aishwarya stated, "I haven’t thought about it. Maybe I’m a bit shy to react to that, but yes, at some point, I would like to explore it. But I’m not sure if I should be penning a book on myself."

However, the star believes that some day her life would be documented, with or without consent. "It’s important to share your story as it is. I’d rather have it closer to reality than otherwise. I will think about having a biopic made on myself at some point for sure. If my life makes for a great story to tell or watch on screen then why not! But right now, there are no such concrete discussions."
