KARACHI: Bollywood has been home to some very beautiful women. The 70s alone featured Neetu Singh, Jaya Bachchan, Dimple Kapadia and Zeenat Aman and the 80s saw stellar stars such as Sridevi and Amrita Singh germinate.

Being a 90s kid, I witnessed the likes of Kajol, Rani Mukerji, Madhuri Dixit, Juhi Chawla, Karisma Kapoor and Tabu do their magic on screen. While all of these starlets do take the lead in one-off films till today, only former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan still seems to be a glamorous icon, despite being 44 years of age.

For instance, while Aishwarya's contemporary Tabu played heartthrob Shahid Kapoor's mother in Haider, the former appeared as the alluring poetess Saba in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil - perhaps her most sensual role to date. Her upcoming film Fanney Khan, opposite Anil Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao, shows her in a Madonna-esque avatar - proving that there's no stopping to her grace.

The 1994 Miss World has numerous super hit films under her belt. From Subhash Ghai's Taal in 1999 to Dhoom 2 in 2006. She essayed Nandini in Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Paro in Devdas, always managing to wow crowds with her performance - and of course, sheer beauty.

As Juhi was doing Paheli in 2005, Aishwarya was making people go crazy with Kajra Re from Bunty Aur Babli, confirming yet again, that only she is the undisputed queen of Bollywood.

After working in films such as Jodhaa Akbar, Raavan and Action Replayy, Aishwarya took a career break. Reports state the actor was also chosen to play the iconic diva in the 2012 film Heroine. However, due to her pregnancy, she was replaced with Kareena Kapoor Khan - another Bollywood beauty who has taken her career to soaring heights.
