FAISALABAD:

The District Bar Association (DBA) has threatened to lock all local courts if the decision regarding the establishment of a High Court bench in Faisalabad is not announced within a fortnight.

The decision was taken during a general house meeting of the DBA, held in Faisalabad on Thursday and Friday under the chairmanship of Faisalabad bar president Fawad Ahmed Cheema.

The meeting noted that the decision regarding the establishment of a High Court bench in Faisalabad had been reserved for the last four months and stressed for an immediate resolution of the matter.

Addressing the meeting, Cheema said “We have waited long enough for a verdict on the matter and we keep getting assurances. No practical steps have been taken.”

DBA members said they were resolved to take to the streets and boycott all the courts if the final decision was not announced soon.  “
