Pakistan were 310-6 at stumps on day two in the second Test of the three-match series against Australia in Melbourne as rain continued to hamper play.

Azhar Ali (139 off 287), who completed his 11th Test century, was on strike with left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir (28 off 23) when umpires called the match off due to continued drizzling.

With only 14.4 overs left in the day, there is not much of a chance that players will return to the field.

Early on day two, Pakistan started their first innings with an overnight score of 142-4. Asad Shafiq scored 50 off 123 before being caught at second slip of Jackson Bird's delivery.

Sarfraz Ahmed (10 off 20) was not able to make a big contribution and was caught at first slip off Josh Hazlewood.

Bird has three wickets to his name with Hazlewood bagging two and Nathan Lyon accounting for one batsman. Mitchell Starc, surprisingly , is wicketless at the moment after bowling 23.2 overs.
