ISLAMABAD: Every Pakistani who wishes to visit India will have to obtain a No Objection Certificate (NoC) from the Ministry of Interior, according to an official statement issued here on Thursday.

The decision was taken in an inter-ministerial meeting to regulate visits abroad of public servants, artists and journalists in the interest of Pakistan’s security and to safeguard the country’s prestige.

Federal Minister for Interior Rehman Malik chaired the meeting. The order will be implemented with effect from March 15 this year. In this regard, the government issued the instructions in consultation with the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Culture, Education and Information and Broadcasting.
