ISLAMABAD: A sessions court on Tuesday accepted the bail application of a truck driver who allegedly killed two people and injured several in a road accident last month. On September 22, the trailer of a speeding truck hit and damaged four cars near Sangjani Toll Plaza on GT Road.  Warid Ali and Muhammad Ilyas were killed in the accident, while 12 others were injured. The trailer also damaged a taxi and four other cars. The truck driver, who was later identified as Izzat Khan, escaped the scene. Police registered a case against unidentified persons and launched a manhunt for Khan, who was eventually arrested.  Khan, however, moved the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Raja Asif Mehmood for bail-before-arrest.

The court accepted his application on Tuesday.
