HARIPUR: A walk was organised on Friday by the district administration in collaboration with Sungi Development Foundation and office bearers of Aawaz voice and accountability programme to commemorate the International Day for Disabled Persons. Around 200 physically challenged persons and children from the school for physical challenged children took part in the walk, which started from Sheranwala gate and culminated at the DC office. Participants were carrying banners and placards inscribed with slogans such as “Treat equally, not special”, besides demanding better living conditions and education facilities, as well as respect for physically-challenged persons.
