Personal trainer, Jack Silvanus of Sukh Chan in Lahore takes us through his day. He gives us a breakdown of the work that goes on behind-the-scenes to help people achieve their goals, and also tells us what to eat to stay healthy and fit!

5:30am

I quickly wake up, and start my routine. First it’s the morning prayers, after which I start to prepare and get ready for work as my first clients are in the gym as early as 6:30am.

7am

Work is at its peak at this time and my morning clients always energise me for an eventful day.

10am

Life is more bearable at work. Here I have time to go through my client’s progress, and work out different sets of diet plans and training routines to suit my client’s goals.

11am

I am still training with my clients.

1pm

It’s time for a brief lunch break, which consists of something light like a grilled chicken sandwich or chicken and steak with vegetables. After a quick meal, it’s time to freshen up for the second half of my day.

2pm

By this time my clients start to arrive, ready for an action-packed afternoon session.

7:45pm

I take a short break to prepare my own workout for the day.

8pm

It is now time for my own workout routine, which lasts for about 45 minutes. After I complete my workout, I head back to my safe haven.

9:15pm

I spend an hour studying my medical journals, which is required every alternate day, three times a week. I then find some time to play soccer — I love this time!

10:15pm

It’s now time to have my dinner. This meal mostly comprises of high-proteins and zero carb.

11pm

I now make a Skype call to my family back in Kenya. I catch up with my kids whom I miss and love dearly.

12am

I am tucked into bed and in deep slumber.
