ISLAMABAD: In a bid to increase security for Muharram, police and rangers have conducted a door to door search operation in Bhara Kahu and surrounding areas on Friday.

At least 14 suspects, were arrested during the search operation conducted in areas of Dhok Kilani, Seban Syedan, Mohalla Qaziabad, Nai Abadi, Satra Meel, Faraz Colony and Wahidi Colony.

The police also seized 13 twelve-bore guns, four 7MM rifles, 10 thirty-bore pistols, two 9MM pistols and 763 bullets while searching houses, workshops, markets, under construction buildings and residential areas.

According to Islamabad SSP Operations, Sajid Kiani, the search operation was conducted on the directive of Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. “The objective of these search operations is to eliminate the use of unlicensed weapons in any illegal activities,” remarked Kiani.
