LAHORE: An accidental discharge from a security guard’s gun left four children and their parents injured in Lahore on Thursday.

Police said the gun of Ilyas, who works as a security guard at the Allied Public School near Chungi Amar Sadu in Factory Area, went off accidentally. Four schoolchildren and their parents were injured when the gunshots hit them.

Police said the guard misfired a volley of bullets, injuring four schoolchildren and their parents, who had come to pick up their children from school. The injured were identified as Zoha, 7, Nimra, 8, Obaidullah, 19, Samiullah 13, and their parents, 34-year-old Samar and 55-year-old Siddique.

The injured were taken to General Hospital where they were discharged after treatment.

SP Operations Cantt Division Ibadat Nisar said police took the guard into custody and would take action against the security guard and the company as well.
