Sindh CM asks religious scholars to unite

He also directed Sindh IG AD Khawaja to provide necessary security to the processions

KARACHI: Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has urged all religious leaders and scholars to unite in the larger interest of the country and promote sectarian harmony.

He said this while addressing a meeting with the ulema, which was held to evolve a code of conduct during Muharram at the New Sindh Secretariat on Tuesday.

The ulemas discussed their issues in the meeting and gave their suggestions. On their recommendation, the chief minister directed the local government department to ensure cleanliness in areas from where Muharram processions will pass and also ensure provision of water for the participants.

He also directed Sindh IG AD Khawaja, who was present in the meeting, to provide necessary security to the processions.
