British envoy lauds Punjab’s progress

LAHORE: British High Commissioner in Pakistan Thomas Drew met Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif on Saturday.

The British envoy appreciated the ongoing development in Punjab, saying education, health and other sectors have improved considerably in Punjab. Even UK Prime Minister Theresa May has lauded the speedy progress made in Punjab province, he said.

Pakistan hands evidence against Altaf to UK

Shahbaz stressed the need for promotion of trade and economic relations between Pakistan and Britain. “Exchange of trade delegations is of vital importance,” he added.

He said that Britain should play its role in the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in the light of UN resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people. “Pakistan is a peaceful country and wants durable peace in the region,” he added.
