NEW YORK: Back in January, the sudden death of British rock icon David Bowie shook the world. Tributes from all over the world, by fans and fellow musicians alike, poured in for the much-loved singer. But now, seven months on, the news has surfaced that Bowie may have ‘killed himself’ after battling terminal cancer for months.

It has been claimed that the Starman singer’s passing away may have been “stage-managed,” leading to questions surrounding the cause of his death. His battle with liver cancer was kept a secret and now, writer Lesley-Ann Jones has investigated the time surrounding his tragic demise.

From shocking claims like Bowie had been suspicious of his mother’s background to him considering assisted suicide, Jones lists rumours and queries from fans and friends the world over. Also, BBC Radio 1 DJ Andy Peebles claimed Bowie may have had a hand in how he ended his life. “Seemingly, he stage-managed his own demise,” Peebles reportedly said. “Two singles released so closely together, the biggest album of his career launched on his 69th birthday and then, two days later, he dies. I don’t know about you but I can’t see that as coincidental.”

Peebles went on to reveal how it had been suggested to him, in quite a number of phone calls, that Bowie’s death was the result of assisted suicide. “Who might have assisted him and exactly how they did so, we will never know. To protect them, I am sure he won’t have involved his family or his close friends.”
