September 11, 2016

Entrepreneur, fashionista, devoted mother, and London-based socialite, Zehra Suterwalla and her younger brother Zain Tapal, who works in finance, take us through their childhood, and it sure does seem like an exciting one! From shaving the others legs to sharing mutual love for the finer things in life, these siblings get candid about their relationship

What’s your first memory of each other?

Zehra: Well, Zain is seven and a half years younger than me so I remember the day he was born and how we weren’t allowed to see him because we had a cough. But I remember peeking at him and thinking: “Wow he’s so cute!”

Zain: Zehra always wanted a younger sister I feel, so one night she shaved one of my legs clean. I don’t understand why I let her do that, but she is a master at convincing people!

What is the craziest thing you have done together?

Zehra: Too many to remember or mention.

Zain: It is best we don’t mention it here.

What did you get punished for the most as a child?

Zehra: I think it would be for annoying and hitting my younger brothers!

Zain: I was always goodie-two-shoes so I never really got punished.

If you could only wear one piece of clothing for the rest of your life, from the others closet, what would it be?

Zehra: His watch!

Zain: Now that’s a tough one! Since I am a male in my mid-twenties I should really stay out of women’s clothing.

If you could swap places with each other, what’s the first thing you would do?

Zehra: This is such a good question — I would move closer to me!

Zain: I would take her car for a long drive, and take her kids with me. Best plan ever!

What is the one thing you love about your sibling?

Zehra: I love my family. In my eyes they are perfect — so everything!

Zain: How I can always depend on ‘Zehrori’ to be there for me.

If you are fighting with each other, how do you make up?

Zehra: We don’t really fight that much. And even when we fight, we end up laughing so it never lasts for more than 30 seconds.

Zain: I always have to apologise since she’s much older, but most of the time it’s her fault anyways.

Zehra: I am not that old!

What is the one secret talent your sibling has, that you wish you did too?

Zehra: He knows how to wrap our dad around his little finger!

Zain: That is not even true, that’s her area of expertise!

Describe your sibling in three words:

Zehra: Gym fanatic, super sweet, and just perfect!

Zain: Caring, hilarious and a foodie (like our whole family).

How are your personalities similar?

Zehra: We both enjoy the finer things in life. We also have a similar outlook to life and family.

Zain: We both love shopping and good food. Does that count?

I can’t live without my brother/sister because…

Zehra: I can’t live without my family.

Zain: For me, family is everything. They stay with you through any situation, in the good and bad times.
