Stung: 60 injured in bee attack

MULTAN: As many as 60 people were stung by a swarm of bees that attacked a school on Wednesday.

A Rescue 1122 spokesman said the incident occurred at around 10am at Government Primary School Sardar Wala in Lodhran.

He said some children had been playing in the schoolyard when the bees struck.

He said in the ensuing commotion, several teachers and other students stepped outdoors and were stung as well.

He said the principal was among the injured. He said they were taken to the DHQ Hospital where doctors later said their condition was stable.

Rescue officials said the beehive had been taken down after the incident.
