Power outages: Jirga convened in Hangu to find solution  

The elders urged the government and Wapda officials to immediately address their grievances

HANGU: A grand jirga was held in Hangu on Sunday to find a solution to the prolonged power outages and water shortage that have irked residents for a long time. The event was organised by members of a local welfare committee and was presided over by its head, Malik Pehelwan. On the occasion, elders said residents pay electricity bills and taxes but still face 17 hours of load-shedding. They added power outages coupled the water shortage has negatively impacted their routine and business activities. The elders urged the government and Wapda officials to immediately address their grievances.
