PESHAWAR: Local Government, Elections and Rural Development Department has issued a notification to change fuel allowances and issue vehicles to various officials of the district and tehsil councils.

The notification, copy of which is available with The Express Tribune, stated the petroleum, oil and lubricants allowances for district nazims’ vehicles should be increased from 200 litres to 300 litres per month. “Details for the issuance of vehicles for nazims of district and tehsil councils have also been shared,” the notification stated. “A car will be provided to those nazims who belong to hilly districts of the province.”

As per the notification, excess vehicles will be handed over to the administrative department through the local government department. The notification added the vehicles will be provided for the use of the district nazim only.

The local government has been allowed to procure a vehicle for the secretary of the district council while the same vehicle will be purchased for the secretary of the tehsil council. “A van will be procured for the assistant engineer of the local government department,” the notification read.
