Zai is held over illegal recruitment, alteration in results of education boards, and misappropriation of funds

Board of Secondary Education (BSEK) Chairman Anwar Ahmad Zai was arrested on Thursday by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Express News reported.

Zai has been held in connection with alleged illegal recruitment, alteration in results of different educational boards and misappropriation of funds, according to the NAB. He was having a meal at his Matric Board office when he was apprehended by NAB officials, Express News reported.

Earlier in June, the NAB had arrested former education director Shamsuddin Dal in a case against 138 illegal appointments in District Jamshoro education department. During interrogations, Dal confessed to receiving kickbacks and commissions for his discretions, according to the NAB.
