Over ‘honour’: Couple killed in Swat

The two were murdered after they decided to elope

MINGORA: A couple was brutally murdered in a suspected case of honour killing in Shamozo area of Barikot tehsil, Swat on Tuesday afternoon. According to the police, Bilal Khan and a woman, who was already married, were killed by Saleem Khan and Rahim Zada on Tuesday afternoon. The two were murdered after they decided to elope. “Both planned to get married and attempted to elope on Tuesday afternoon in a vehicle,” the police official said. “All of a sudden, the relatives of the woman ambushed the two and foiled the attempt.” He added Bilal Khan succumbed to his injuries, while the woman was critically injured and later died at the hospital. Soon after the incident, the police registered an FIR against the suspects and started a search operation to apprehend them.
