CHARSADDA: Police arrested a suspected militant who was allegedly involved in several terrorist activities.

Charsadda SHO Imran Mohmand told journalists that the force nabbed Ahmadullah alias Saqib from a police post on Monday. “The suspect belongs to a banned militant group, while a hand grenade and pistol were also confiscated from his possession.”

The official added that the suspect hailed from Khyber Agency and was involved in IED blasts on security forces and peace lashkar volunteers.” He said Ahmadullah also confessed to his involvement in extortion cases and blasts on government schools in the agency. The police official added the suspect was shifted to an undisclosed location for further interrogation.

Meanwhile, in a separate incident, two brothers were gunned down over a land dispute in Tangi. A police official Ashfaq Khan told The Express Tribune that Asar Khan and Sartaj Khan opened fire on Gul Rehman and Noor Rehman over a land dispute in Qaroon Dheri before fleeing the scene. The two victims were killed on the spot, while Nazeer suffered injuries.
