PESHAWAR: The federal government has been urged to announce a development package for Malakand Division. This was said by Minister for Finance Muzaffar Said.

He expressed these views during a meeting with a delegation of minorities from Malakand Division on Tuesday.

“Visits by the prime minister and federal ministers following natural calamities failed to yield results,” he said. “Malakand has been badly affected due to neglect by the government.

The delegation was led by Lower Dir district councillor Shehzad Kokhar Masih and Balambat tehsil councillor Waqar Majeed. The delegation informed the minister about problems being faced by minority communities in the province over their job quota.

The minister vowed to address their grievances on a priority basis. He added the K-P government was already planning to initiate a development package for Malakand in all sectors.
