Health issues: ‘Local solutions solve local problems’

News Desk August 16, 2016

Pakistan does not have 180 million problems, rather it has 180 million solutions, said Dr Benjamin Lozare, a professor at Johns Hopkins University, USA, while speaking at an advocacy seminar titled "Leading a movement for a healthy and prosperous Sindh" by John Hopkins Inc. on Monday. He said Pakistan needs to involve its individuals and communities in the decision-making process to solve its health and development issues. Local solutions solve local problems the best, was his message.

Lozare shared, "Pakistan is very close to my heart. Having been coming to this country for the past 30 years, I have seen it grow and change tremendously." He said all we need is to believe in ourselves and see the magic happen. Later, Shahnaz Wazir Ali, the provincial coordinator oversight and coordination cell for public health programmes, Sindh also addressed the seminar.

Johns Hopkins Global is leading the health communication component of the USAID MCH programme in 15 districts of Sindh.
