When rumours came out that the iPhone7 might not have a headphone jack, it created panic among iPhone users as there might not be a single person who doesn’t use earphones.  While earphones are used to listen to music or making/receiving calls, there’s lot more your iPhone’s earphones can do.

Here is the list of some useful tricks that you can try:

1. Play or Pause Music

You can pause or play a song playing on your music app or any other source such as spotify or podcasts by simply pressing the centre button on your headphones once.

2. Skip a song

You don’t have to unlock your phone every time you want to change a song you don’t like. Simply press the centre button on your headphones twice and it will change to the next song on your play list.

3. Listen to it again

So you like a song so much that you want to listen to it again, simply press the centre button three times and it will take you to the previous song. The feature also lets you go to the start of the song if it is already playing.

4. Fast forward

Want to skip to a particular part of a song, simply double click and hold the centre button till you get to the bit you want to listen to.

5. Rewind

Missed something important, you can rewind by triple clicking and holding the centre button.

6. Answer a call

Answer an incoming call by clicking the headphones centre buttons once.

7. Hang up

To hang up press the centre button while on a call and the phone will automatically disconnect.

8. Ignore a call

Want to ignore an incoming call, simply press and hold the centre button for 2 seconds.

9. Switch between callers

You have an incoming call while you’re already talking with someone else. Simply press the centre button and the incoming call will be answered while putting the previous caller on hold. You can then switch between users by clicking the centre button.

10. End one of the calls

Since the single click won’t end the call but rather switch between users, you can drop one of the calls by pressing and holding the centre button.

11. Ignore second incoming call

You want to ignore an incoming call while you are already on the phone with someone else, simply press and hold the centre button on the headphones for two seconds and your device will drop the incoming call.

12. Activate SiRi

This one is rather well known but it is worth mentioning. You can activate Siri from your headphone simply by pressing and holding the centre button while you are on the home screen.

13. Take a photo

You can also use your headphones to take a photo from your phone. Simply press either one of the volume buttons after you have launched the camera app and your phone will take a picture. This feature would come in handy if you don’t have a selfie stick.
